Healthy Meal suggestions for LongHorn Steakhouse

This was our first time eating at Longhorn and it will be our LAST. We got there around 5:30 and it wasn't very busy. Our server took our orders but kept forgetting parts of it- even our only appetizer was not brought to the table- we had to tell her when we got the meals. I had the ribeye and my husband got the T-Bone. We both asked for the steamed vegetables. My 11 oz ribeye was very thin and oddly tan/ gray in color. It was supposed to be medium rare but it was more on the rare side (which was fine with me so I didn't send it back), it was drenched in butter and the seasonings were so strong and salty that halfway through the steak, my mouth was on fire and my iced tea was all gone. It was pretty fatty and grizzl-ey. My husband's T-Bone was cooked a little better but still very salty and had an odd vinegar taste. The overall experience was not what we had hoped for. It took the server a very long time to come back to us- I was tempted to go to the front to pay because we had a child with us and it had been quite long before our check came. Positive note: the bread was nice and hot. The interior is nicely done. We will not be returning.

Service was horrible and they was not even busy. When I arrived they had about 10 empty tables and 1 other person in front of me waiting to be seated. They gave me a buzzer and still said it will be a 10 min wait, hm ok. Once I was seated in one of the empty tables after 10 mins I didn't get greeted until about another 20 minutes later. I would of left if I wasn't playing on my phone after looking at the menu from waiting so long but I am from out of town and had to eat and was already there. Once I finally got my drink and food ordered it actually didn't take the kitchen long to get my food out. I have ate at many Longhorns on my travels and back home but this one was just horrible. The food had no taste what so ever. I ordered the outlaw ribeye and it just did not have any flavor. If I am ever in the area I will never return here.

This was by far the worse steak and prime rib I've ever had to pay for. They were both VERY dry, and tasted bland. We normally eat at the local Outback, but their steaks haven't been very good as of late. This place is new so we decided to give it a try for an anniversary dinner. The only thing that saved the dinner was our server Evea was very pleasant. If it wasn't for her I would have probably asked for my money back. I can't believe they can continue to serve steaks as such, and survive in this competitive market.

Ducked in with Bob to get a steak and it was a fine time, here's why: * The place is brand new, less than a year methinks * Clean * Well-managed * Excellent and prompt, attentive service * Full. Liquor. Bar. * Bob bought, SCORE! Longhorn is not my favorite steakhouse. I feel they are a tad over-market priced for what you get. But they were fabulous tonight. Cabeza OUT!

Meh. I've experienced better pretty much sums it up. I have eaten here 3 times now and every time it has been lackluster. I have tried a different steaks each time, quality ranged from mediocre to average. Wait time is absurdly long, anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour. Got the asparagus last night and it looked like it came out of a can, soggy and over cooked. All in all, the meals are not worth the money I paid for them. I will just take my business elsewhere from now on. Sorry Longhorn, I gave you three shots and you failed to win me over.

Avoid avoid avoid Tea machine was broken. Bread was rock hard. Great for hockey but not for eating. Salad had a pool of dressing at the bottom of the bowl. $27.99 porterhouse steak was as the thinnest steak I've ever received. Was about 3/4 of a dime thick. This is a new restaurant in the area and we won't be back.

We've eaten here several times and it is always incredible. Very nice wait staff, good atmosphere,, long waits sometimes. Try the chicken next time--insanely good.

My family has dined in this restaurant 6 times now in this location, and this will 100% be the last. We have yet to eat here where everyone got what they ordered, and the service is horrendous. We received our meals today which my sons order was messed up, we immediately brought it to the attention of our server who said she would return with the correction, and never did. Not once did she return to check on our meal to see if it was satisfactory. In fact, we were done eating with our finished plates sitting in front of us for a solid 15 minutes before we even saw her again. No one ever offered us a refill on our drinks or anything. I would be more than understanding if the place was busy, but it was after the lunch hour rush and she only had 3 other tables. When she finally came to our table (after we were finished eating) she asked if we wanted dessert, to which we just needed to get our check and leave. Once she brought the check she started to apologize for her service (I'm assuming because she wanted a good tip at this point). Then after bringing us the change she realized she never brought the correction for my sons meal and asked if we wanted it to go. You have got to be kidding me. I should not be surprised, we have never had an experience any different in here all 6 times, so why would I think this time would be different? The icing on the cake so to speak in this location is the snotty attitude from the hostesses and the sizable hickey on her neck (super classy). Needless to say, they have forever lost our business, and I will be sure to tell our friends in the area to save their money to dine elsewhere. Honestly I wish i could give them 0 stars.

This is the second time we have been to this location. Service was great, food was great. People need to realize that this is a near new location and there are people lined out of the door daily. It takes a bit to make a restaurant operate near flawless. I see the overall rating and it angers me. I understand when people have a bad experience but unfortunately it's the only reason most people take the time to comment. They can't take time out of their busy lives to say, hey! Great job! I will absolutely continue to come back to this restaurant. Did it take a little longer than usual? Yes! Were they insanely busy? Yes. Was the food cooked correctly and good? Absolutely! I'm very happy to have this restaurant in our town. Thank you Longhorn! Sorry for the rant.

Very noisy bad acoustics. Liquor prices very high on calls. Happy hour 5.7pm. Steaks good good Appétizers on happy hour. Nice variety on drunks and food.

Tried once, at lunch time, with a not so good experience. Always willing to give a place another shot. While the service was okay, this one goes off the list. Dip served cold! So cold that the bottom of the dish was cold. By the time it was brought back the salads were right on top of it which means the steak arrived when we were not yet half way through the salads. Delay on eating them ended with the best I could say was.... okay but a bit dry. Finishing service was painfully slow. The next table got their enter and finished it while we waited on the check. I wish them well, but ...,

Really poor service, hostess greeted us poorly, gave us a beeper and told us 30 minutes-- very rude while doing other activities. Bartender eventually asked if we had been served, we said no. She then proceeded to clean up dishes behind the bar. I asked why she was cleaning dishes instead of taking our order. She rudely said I'm busy but I'm listening to you anyway. We left the pager on the counter and left. Not worth a second try

Excuse the punn, but this Longhorn Steakhouse is 'a cut above the rest.' In that they served 900 dinners the Sat. before our arrival, has made them operate like a well oiled machine. My filet was probably one of the best cuts I've ever had. The ambiance is on point, noise level tolerable, prices equal to one of our other steak houses, less than the other. Service was more than adequate, and the GM, Pete, is very approachable. Looks like the staff respects him, but converse with him easily. And yes, the Rest Rooms are clean. My thing is "if the Rest Rooms are dirty, so is the Kitchen.

I had lunch here today with a friend. I was disappointed that they only have 3 salads. I realize that steaks is their thing but I try to eat healthy and "clean" and I appreciate options. 7 pepper steak salad was ok pretty basic and boring. Service was ok but they definitely wanted us to get out as soon as we were done eating. We hadn't seen each other in awhile and our server was hoping for faster eating and less talking. It wasn't packed so I'm not sure what the big hurry was.

Longhorn Steakhouse in Port Charlotte's food really was delicious, our server, Rick was friendly and hustled as fast as he could. We started with the Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms, which were the best stuffed mushrooms I've ever eaten. The cheddar white cheese was a perfect ingredient for this dish. We both had the portobello steak for our entrees. Mine was the sirloin and my husband's was the filet cut. Both cooked flawlessly to our requested temps of med & med rare. Sadly, we were disappointed with the dessert, Chocolate Stampede, which was a brownie, ice cream, fudge, whipped cream dessert. We asked for it "To Go" as it was getting late and we were informed, they were out of ice cream. Ok, disappointing, but ok. Not sure why nobody could run out to fetch a couple of gallons, but again, ok. When we got home, we noticed there was no fudge either. Boooo! I waffled back and forth with a three star rating to a four star rating. The length of time it took to get each and every course was toooo long. The mix ups with our food, wrong salad dressing, wrong side dish, those issues were corrected very quickly. However, we were in there for so long, by the time we left I had forgotten where we parked the car. Ha. Truly, despite the excruciating length of time it took to eat dinner, we both actually enjoyed the food. They just have to work on pumping out the food faster for the customers. Good thing our three year old wasn't with us! She's not nearly as patient as us!

I haven't had a meal no mediocre in a long time...why do they pack them in??? I was looking forward to hot soup so I ordered French onion on this cold Florida day. The bowl was covered with cheese so rubbery and disgusting that i folded that back to just eat the soup and found soggy croutons and Luke warm soup. They had these little ramekins of what I guess were supposed to be nachos but again not really warmed up and so not how they were intended. Definitely left with a Luke that I guess I was supposed to get of this restaurant after everything was very lukewarm. Steak salad I had wasn't bad. If I was ever to go I can I would probably stick with that.
